German Speakers Association
The German Speakers Association (GSA) is an 800-member national and international professional development group for speakers, trainer, coaches and anyone wanting to professionalise the quality of their public speaking skills. Although our main language in the organization is German, we welcome non-native speaking professionals to join our organization, and become part of the only internationally certified speaking organization in our country. In addition to our members in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, we are connected to an additional 6,000 speakers globally though our association with our umbrella organization, the Global Speakers Federation (GSF).
Some of the most experienced speaking professionals in our industry enjoy the membership offered by the GSA. Together, we support our professional and non-professional members through educational programs and networking to advance the business of public speaking as a profession.
We provide:

• The opportunity for collegial exchange
• An increased visibility on the speaking market
• Networking opportunities with agencies, publishers, media representatives and professional service providers in our industry
• Promoting the social appreciation of speech and lobbying as a professional association
The GSA offers its members access to internationally recognised certifications, runs its own Professional Speaking Academy, and provides a much sought after professional mentoring program. Through a combination of our main organization, the individual regional groups and the chapters in Austria and Switzerland, we also organize approximately 80 events annually, showcasing more than 150 presenters/presentations.
The highlight of our branch is the annual International GSA Convention– a multi-day event offering the opportunity to learn the latest developments in the speaking industry and to network with hundreds of other national and international speaking professionals. Also at this event, the GSA presents the German Speaker Award to renowned personalities and public figures.

Our Annual Highlight and the biggest professional Speaker Convention in Europe – The International GSA Convention
In early September every year, hundreds of GSA Members and representatives from our partner international speaker associations, come together
for the biggest and most important event of our organisation – the International GSA Convention!
This event is the absolute highlight of our industry with more than three days, of professional development, keynotes, workshops and networking all aimed to bring speakers the latest know-how in the professional speaking branch – all held in a fun and interactive environment. The crown jewel of the Convention is the Gala Evening – a fantastic dinner event with top speakers and entertainers on stage. Our prestigious German Speaker Award is presented at the Gala Evening each year to a unique speaker personality who has made a significant contribution in our industry. Past recipients include Dr. Auma Obama, his Holyness the Dalai Lama and the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Professor Dr. Roman Herzog. Additionally, each year we initiate distinguished honourees to the German Speakers Hall of Fame – the highest honour given to members of our organization.
The main language of the convention is German; however, there are keynotes and workshop presented in English language. For keynotes that are presented from the main stage in German, we offer simultaneous translation into English.
